Speech → Birdsong

Drop in a recording of someone talking or singing and hear its melody replayed as a synthetic bird. The sound is built live in your browser; your file never leaves the device.

Inspired byOona Räisänen's blackbird experiment.

Input EQ — drag anywhere to draw the curve; right-click to flatten a region

The EQ shapes what the converter hears; the input voice itself is untouched. Most of the useful action is around 80–400 Hz, where the tracked pitch usually lives, so cutting a competing voice, bass line or rumble there can make the bird steadier.

Bird voiceto randomize
6.0×How many times higher the bird sings than the tracked voice. Slide up for tiny, bright birds; down for bigger, deeper ones.
1How many overtones are layered above the fundamental. 1 is a clean whistle; higher values add buzz and edge.
sineThe overtone pattern the Timbre control counts up.
0%Adds a fast pitch wobble. Zero leaves the voice's own melody untouched.
14 HzHow fast the trill wobbles.
Voice trackingto randomize
220 HzThe part of the voice the tracker listens to. Lower it for deep voices; raise it to follow a higher overtone instead.
140 HzHow wide a slice of the voice is tracked. Wider catches more overtones and sounds raspier; narrower stays cleaner.
0%Fades out quiet background noise between phrases. Raise it for noisy recordings.
70 HzHow closely the bird follows quick pitch changes. Low is smooth and gliding; high keeps every wobble.
70 HzHow quickly the bird's loudness follows the voice. Low is smooth and legato; high is choppy and precise.
